Dream Bigger & Remember

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10 ESV

How might you live differently if you realized and lived out of the purpose and grace that you were, you are God’s dream before you became anything else?

No matter the circumstances of your beginnings on earth, no matter the rejection you’ve faced, no matter how humble your circumstances, the King of Kings, The Lord of Lords thought of you and created you. You are intentionally designed. You are His artwork, His poetry, His story in motion.

You are His child created with a purpose, on purpose.

How much bigger would you dream if you realized you are God’s dream and He has a plan, work for you to do, a story for you to live out that He dreamed up, He created, He formed and fashioned?

I had a dream last night of a painting bigger than I’ve ever painted, bigger than I’ve ever even imagined painting, so big the canvas was the size of the walls of my bedroom; I’d need a much bigger studio if I was ever going to paint this painting.

In the dream, it hung up above, purchased and titled, “Remember.”

But I was in a hurry and filled with worry. All I saw was this little table in front of me, and I was worried that I wasn’t prepared enough and hadn’t brought or made enough to sell. But above hung this painting, gleaming with gold leaf and burgundy. It was beautiful and brought overwhelming tears at God’s goodness when I looked up at it.

I awoke, and suddenly the biggest painting I’ve ever painted that sits unfinished on my floor because I’m intimidated with its size looks really, really small.

And yet after my amazement at God, my first response was anxiety and the thoughts, “I wonder how much a canvas that size would cost? And how much paint would it take, and what would that cost? And how would I transport it? And where would I even be able to paint a painting that size since it couldn’t fit in my home?”

The reality is, God’s dream for you is gonna cost you. It’ll “only” cost you everything; It’s gonna require dying to yourself. It’s gonna require giving up your dreams for His.

But that God dream is so much bigger and better than yours. Whether we get to see the fruit of it here and now or ever this side of heaven or not, He has a good plan for your life.

We need to catch a vision from Him.

He stopped me in my anxious wondering and spoke, “Don’t you think I thought of all of that?”

He knows what it’ll take more than I do. He knows how and why and when and if I get to paint a 10-foot by 8-foot canvas, how much paint that’ll take, and what that amount of gold leaf costs, and how on earth you price a painting that size and who would pay its cost.

Because He already paid for us in full. Already paid for me in full.

Remember.

Remember His covenant. Remember His blood poured out.

Remember.

Like the burgundy paint and gold leaf inlaid, you and I were costly.

We only cost Him everything.

You are God’s dream, His canvas painted, His story, His sculpture, His masterpiece.

You were created to do good works which He, The Creator, prepared beforehand, for you–yes YOU–to walk in.

Give Him the glory, open your eyes to His story. You were a thought in His mind, a word from His mouth, knit together by His Hands. God made you, He loves you, and His dream for His Kingdom come and His will to be done on earth as in Heaven that you get to walk in and invite Him into is so much bigger than you’ve imagined.

So maybe it’s time to start dreaming with Him.

I think I’m gonna need a bigger canvas and a bigger studio, and if it’s necessary and it’s good, I know He’ll provide it in His timing for His purpose, His glory, and my good.

In the meantime, don’t despise your humble beginnings. His Kingdom starts like a mustard seed, but then it grows into the tallest of all the trees.

It’ll be costly. But He’s worth it. He already paid everything for you. Will you give Him everything back?

Remember. Don’t forget Him for a moment. Don’t forget, He wants you to do all of this with Him, for Him, through Him.

You’re gonna need a bigger canvas and a whole lot of paint and patience.

And He already knows that.

He loves you, from everlasting to everlasting.

Remember. Live created by Him, for Him, and through Him. Dream with Him, dream bigger. His kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
