From Dry Bones into The Crescendo of Glory
When the words, “Thy will be done,” mean a cross, mean suffering, how do we walk forward? How do we keep the faith?
Sometimes it’s a valley of dry bones, and it looks like hopelessness.
But Dear Christian, it’s not ever hopeless.
God isn’t ignoring your pain, He hasn’t forgotten you, and it doesn’t delight Him to watch you suffer, but He sees beyond these wounds and this flesh to a greater Reality.
We can’t see the wind, but we know it’s real and there and we feel its effects all around; there is a Reality just as invisible to us right now as wind but far more Real than even the wind and its effects.
“And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.”” Ezekiel 37:3 ESV
He knows the joy coming. He knows the peace unending. He knows the life everlasting. He knows what a crescendo of celebration into everlasting glory it’ll be when finally your dry bones breathe again.
You were made to prophesy to the bones, not to accept all the pain you see no way out of as the end of the story.
We don’t get to see the golden streets that bridge these chasms in our hearts yet, but we can still paint them, sing about them, and hope in Him for the promise we haven’t seen fulfilled yet.
The waiting feels long, but something tells me that the moment we step into eternity we’ll see it was worth far more than it cost.
We can endure with Hope, Joy, Peace, and Faith because Truer than what these eyes can see is the Promise that some day soon we will “…rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;”
Revelation 19:7 ESV
So here, right here in the middle of the valley of dry bones, even here, let us be found with hearts awake and ready for that Day soon to come when The Bride will marry The Lamb and the Good Plan and Purpose for all things revealed. You are loved beyond measure, Beloved.
“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Matthew 24:44 NIV
